Fractional Laser Skin Resurfacing in Orlando: All You Need to Know

For those always on the go, discomfort can be internalized—but it doesn’t have to be. If you are feeling uncomfortable with your wrinkles, acne scars, or sun damage, Orlando’s Gearity Wellness offers the latest fractional laser treatment: MOXI. This skin resurfacing technique produces noticeable and long-lasting results without going under the knife. Our experts are answering all your questions in this article.

What Can a Fractional Laser like MOXI Do for You?

MOXI is the perfect complement to any skin care regimen. In a quick 8-10 minute session, it can:

  • Treat visible signs of aging
  • Correct early fine lines
  • Even skin tone
  • Refresh your skin
  • Treat sun damage
  • Improve skin texture

How Does It Work?

MOXI’s laser beam targets water in the cells so as to boost the body’s organic healing process—hence little to no downtime! By creating micro-coagulation zones, the body replaces damaged cells with healthy, vibrant ones. The laser acts in three stages, increasing milijoules (energy) in each step:

  1. Prevent and refresh
  2. Revitalize and maintain
  3. Transform and renew

Results are visible after only one session, although 3 is the recommended number of sessions for optimal results.

💆‍♀️ Did You Know? You can combine MOXI’s fractional laser technology with BBL HEROic (IPL) for better and faster results.

Why Is Everyone Talking about Fractional Laser?

  • Because it targets water cells, MOXI is safe for all skin types and all year round.
  • Visible results: One week after a quick 8-10 minute session.
  • Low pain.
  • Easy recovery with little to virtually no downtime (more on this below).
  • Meaningful improvement
  • At the forefront of prejuvenation.

What to Expect

  • Your provider will apply a topical numbing cream to the area 30-40 minutes prior to the session.
  • During the session, the provider will glide the fractional laser handpiece across your skin.
  • You may feel a warm sensation—nothing to be alarmed about, the laser is doing its job.

    The Aftermath

On the 2nd or 3rd day after your treatment, you may notice tiny dark spots on the treated area, these are called MENDs (microscopic epidermal necrotic debris) and are a sign that the laser has worked as intended.

MENDs are a part of the healing process where treated tissue is working its way out of your skin and fresh new skin is regenerated. During this time, your skin will be very dry and peel or flake off. Keep your skin well hydrated to support the healing process.

Redness is normal and expected, too, and it can persist up to seven days after the treatment, depending on the intensity. We recommend using gentle cleansers, hydrating creams and sunscreen (+30SPF) to allow skin time to heal and avoid further stress on the skin.

If you feel warm 1-2 hours (or even up to 12 hours) after the session, you may apply cold compresses to provide comfort. Also, a mineral water spray might provide some relief and much needed moisture to the skin.

    Let’s Talk Melasma

Struggling with stubborn dark patches? This is called melasma. Melasma happens when your skin makes too much pigment. It’s often triggered by hormones or even heat. While it’s not dangerous, it can be frustrating because it loves to linger. It is one of the toughest pigment conditions to treat—but with the right tools, it can be managed.

The best approach is a combination plan of at home treatments and in-office procedures.

A fractional laser like MOXI, which is gentle and safe, helps break up visible pigmentation and brighten overall skin tone. It’s designed to target pigment, and not only helps clear dark spots, but also refreshes your overall skin tone and texture.

Prescription topicals like hydroquinone and tretinoin / Retin-A work on the cellular level to fade and prevent stubborn dark spots.

The most important step? Daily sunscreen, because UV exposure is the #1 trigger for melasma flares.

Will MOXI get rid of Freckles?

The short answer is YES, a fractional laser will help, but with the assistance of BBL HEROic.
